Western Lunar Return

asterwise_get_western_lunar_return

Next lunar return chart after a given date. Finds the next moment the Moon returns to its natal tropical longitude (approximately every 27.3 days) and builds a complete Western natal chart for that moment at the birth location.

Parameters

ParameterTypeRequiredDescription
birthobjectyesBirth data for Western astrology tools (tropical zodiac). Fields: date, time, lat, lon, person_name, timezone, house_system
response_formatenum: markdown, jsonnoOutput format: 'markdown' (default) for a readable report, or 'json' for the raw structured payload.
after_datestring/nullnoFind the first occurrence after this date, YYYY-MM-DD. Defaults to today when omitted.

What it covers

Monthly emotional reset chart — similar workflow to solar return but cadence is lunar synodic month, not tropical year.

Workflow

BEFORE: asterwise_get_western_natal.
AFTER: None.

Input

birth — WesternBirthData.
after_date (optional YYYY-MM-DD) — find next return after this date. Defaults to today.

Output contract

Same shape as solar return: planet='Moon', natal_longitude, return_utc, return_jd, chart

Response format

response_format=json serialises the complete response as indented JSON.
response_format=markdown renders the same data as a human-readable report.
Both modes return identical underlying data.

Compute class

MEDIUM_COMPUTE (~500ms)

Errors

INVALID_PARAMS (local): WesternBirthData validation failures.
INTERNAL_ERROR: Any upstream API failure or timeout → MCP INTERNAL_ERROR
Edge cases:
Returns the NEXT lunar return after after_date — if after_date is omitted, returns the next return from today.

Do not confuse with

asterwise_get_western_solar_return — annual Sun return vs lunar_return (monthly Moon return).
